FORECAST DEMAND
For most of you, every customer project starts with an opportunity before it’s Closed Won.
The tricky part is when your pipeline grows and you have to figure out if you’re able to fulfill the demand. Our new extended data model for resource requests and the Precursive Forecast Demand dashboard is here to help to identify the trends and understand in advance what are the upcoming challenges that you may face in your Resourcing team.
PROJECT BILLING
When providing professional services there is always a billing element. This consists of invoicing the customer for the work delivered, receiving payment, and recognizing revenue. When it’s hard to figure out what should be billed, it’s also then hard to get the payment on time. Precursive will help you to get paid faster by giving you the ability to invoice multiple times during the project. It’s never been easier. While you are running your project and your team submit their timesheets or expenses, and whenever it’s time to send the invoice to the customer all you need to do is to select for which time period you want to create an invoice, and Precursive will take you through this process smoothly.
This is a pilot version of that feature, so we will be more than grateful to get some feedback from all of you. You can reach out to us via productteam@precursive.co.uk. In the future, we expect Project Billing to be a separate module to Precursive PSX that will require separate licenses.
PARTICIPANT IMPROVEMENTS
As you assign your team to your project, it’s very important to keep a close eye on your budget. Our recent improvements related to participants' costs & rates controls will help you to set this up properly from the beginning as it will help you understand where the costs and rates are taken from but also it will give you full control over that. Together with this improvement, we have implemented a new way of setting up permissions to the participant data. Previously, only Project Managers and Super Users could access the Project and Participant data. Now, you can share this access with your wider team and hide some of the fields that you don’t want necessarily to be visible for everyone.
You can now add the ability to access projects & participant data without giving access to the budget fields or any other field using the field level security on Salesforce.
IMPROVEMENTS TO ROLES MANAGEMENT
Previously, to add or edit existing roles you had to do it in two places: on the resource object and on the role object. As this was taking too much of your time, we decided to move it all to the role object so now every time you make a change to your roles’ list or add a new role, these changes will apply to the Role drop-down when you edit it on a resource.
DEFAULT PUBLIC FILTER FOR NEW USERS
For those of you who use multiple public saved filters on Precursive Plan, we’ve prepared a setting that can help you define which of those public filters should be the default for your new users. You can access this setting from the Custom Filters tab. All you have to do there is to find the public filter and tick the ‘Default’ checkbox next to it.
BOARD INSIGHTS
Manage your projects proactively and prepare for them by assessing risks, issues and making clear what are the desired outcomes of your projects. This will help you identify the potential issues before they become real but also what’s more important - it will engage your team in mitigating risks and focusing on what’s really important - your customer's expected outcome.
BOARD HEALTH
As your projects are progressing, it is also very important to be transparent with your team about its current state. Learn from the Board Health history what you can improve in the future to make your projects more successful. Reduce the time spent on status updates meetings and start using Board Health in Precursive OBX. Log your project health scores and update your team about the next steps that need to be taken in order to keep the project in good health. You can set up a subscribed report to be sent to your whole team every week so that everyone stays on top.
EXPORT PLAN
External Sharing is really great when it comes to sharing the project plan with your customer but sometimes your customer might want to see just a snapshot of the plan. Now, you can export your plan into a spreadsheet at any point of the project and share it with your customer.
CUSTOMIZABLE PLAN VIEW
Too much information can lead to chaos. Too little information can lead to ambiguity and a lack of control. Ability to customize the list of columns on the Plan View will help you to set up the right context for your team.
